In-Person Audition Guidelines
In-person auditions are live auditions held either at our venue, The Courtyard Theatre, London N1, or at Outreach venues across the UK. Some outreach auditions are private and need a password to apply.
Please remember to complete the Additional Information (Personal Statement and Qualifications) on the application form.
There is a fee of £15 to register your place at an in-person audition (excluding Outreach Auditions). This fee will be fully refunded to you on completion of your audition.
Please note that your in-person audition is not confirmed until payment has been made. Refunds are not applicable to non-attendees
Your Audition:
For your audition, you are required to prepare two contrasting pieces of no more than two minutes in length as follows:
- A Shakespeare, or an alternative playwright from the same period
- A contemporary piece from a modern play (1980 onwards)
- We may re-direct one of the audition pieces with you
There will also be a short interview where we expect to hear from you about:
- Why have you chosen to apply to Court Theatre Training Company?
- What do you believe you will gain from the training?
- Why studying with us may be a particularly useful experience for you?
Plus a few other questions about you and your interests and experience.
You will be informed within four weeks whether we would like to offer you a place on the course.
